Overview:
Provides Technical HSE support and guidance to the STP and facilitates the management of HSE issues at the rig site.
Key Responsibilities:
QHSE Responsibilities:
Supports the Rig Manager in the implementation of the requirements of s HSE-MS, and customer HSE bridging documentation.
Support the implementation and monitoring of HSE plans and procedures in drilling operations.
Advises on issues of compliance with and customers' HSE policies and local regulatory HSE requirements, and industry best practices.
Carries out and/or follows us on monitoring, inspection, reporting and closing of audit points before agreed deadlines.
Supports risk management activities, including Job Safety Analyses for drilling operations, monitoring of the Permit to Work system, and maintaining the rig’s risk register. Ensures all critical activities are accompanied by adequate safe work procedures, Job Safety Analyses, etc. Audits as required.
Provides support in the notification and investigation of incidents and following up on corrective action plans.
Periodic compiling and reporting on HSE activities and HSE performance indicators both for and customers.
Advises on the use, care, and replacement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Updates rig crew and visitors training program as per standard.
Provides HSE induction to new hires and orientation to visitors.
Ensures that Pre Job-Safety Meetings (PJSMs), Pre-Tour Safety Meetings (PTSMs), and other safety meetings are taking place.
Advises Rig team on safety items needed for requisitioning.
Monitors the reporting of Safety Observations (BBS Cards/Other) and brings to management for discussions and close out.
Coordinates and leads emergency drills at regular intervals; communicates learnings and recommended actions.
Supports the implementation, maintenance and reporting on HSE Programs.
Supports with the close out of HSE issues in the pre-spud checklists/ and rig move procedures.
Ensures Life Saving Equipment is ready for deployment in case is needed.
Provides guidance and actively participates in Hazards Hunts.
Ensures that catering subcontractors provide a clean and hygienic environment for the crews.
Supports the conduction of safety and hygiene inspections.
Ensures that all safety equipment is in good working condition and reports non-conformities.
Promotes a good hand safety culture.
Ensures that all working documents are current, updated, filed, and available on location.
Takes prompt action to correct hazardous conditions and supports a Stop Work events when reasonably practicable.
Make sure that all lifting operations are done in line with safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Tertiary education most preferred.
Lack of formal education can be compensated with:
NEBOSH / IOSH certificate or diploma in a related field, AND
Rig Experience not less than 3 years (except the Trainees).
Preferred: Technical Degree
Skills & Knowledge
4-years min experience in HSE in the Oil & Gas service industry.
Proficient experience in MS office packages – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Ability to communicate and interact with peers, and supervisors.
Excellent organization skills.
