Overview:
Operates and maintains all rig floor drill string handling and hoisting equipment and well control equipment systems as directed by the Driller.
Operates and maintains all related tools and other equipment required to run casing, run and retrieve drill string, and specialized tools as needed.
Include repair and maintenance of all drilling systems, equipment, and work areas as directed by the Driller.
Assists as requested during rig moves.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Responsibilities:
Ensure that the rig floor operation is performed with safe and acceptable practices within guidelines and prioritizing the safety procedures.
Perform duties in such a manner that results in achieving the operating plan and objectives set forth by the Driller and STP, including but not limited to safety, uptime, operating expectation, Client drilling curve, rig budget, and rig appearance/housekeeping.
QHSE Responsibilities:
Actively support the Implementation of the HSE MS.
To ensure a safe working environment without harm to persons or the environment.
To address HSE issues at the time of their identification.
To make safety suggestions when necessary.
Ensure Waste Management Plan is adhered to.
Ensure that the permit to work system and other HSE management tools are used correctly.
Actively participate in safety discussions, safety drills, and regular inspections. (Daily check on well control and other safety equipment).
Operational:
Perform the drilling activities in accordance with safe well control practices and in accordance with local regulatory requirements.
Assist in inspecting and maintaining all rig floor equipment in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance System to minimize NPT.
Assist in mud mixing activities.
General housekeeping to maintain safe working area.
Business Planning / Continuous Improvement / Organization Efficiency:
Ensure all work is performed within the requirements and guidance of the company HSE process.
Ensure that equipment is returned to its proper storage location in a condition where it is ready to be used again.
Actively attend pre-tour meetings to discuss daily objectives, special instructions, safety precautions and training activities as required.
Assist to reporting any incident/accident or other operational problems to Driller in accordance with procedure. Especially, damage to equipment and HSE-related incidents
QUALIFICATIONS:
Sufficient understanding in spoken English.
Good clear communication skills
Literate and numerate
Has completed training to required level for position
Preferred: Required training updated
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
Be knowledgeable of all safety policies and procedures that pertain to his area of responsibility including firefighting, emergency equipment, lifesaving equipment and emergency response.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels assist in effective management of personnel and operations.
Physically able to perform the duties required and work as a team member.
Preferred: Understanding of well control activities
