Overview:
To maintain all company-owned and operated mechanical equipment. To understand and implement the usage and maintenance of rig equipment in accordance with maintenance standards. To supervise and train mechanical maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Responsibilities:
Responsible to minimize overall equipment spending based on highest preventive maintenance standard.
Perform controls to ensure all required operational reports are received and transmitted to all relevant personnel.
QHSE Responsibilities:
To lead through effective safety leadership by being personally responsible for Implementation of MS requirements daily.
To ensure a safe working environment without harm to persons or the environment.
To address HSE issues at the time of their identification.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies by all personnel, support personal to take time out for safety, when necessary and encourage employees to make safety suggestions.
Ensure that the permit to work system and other HSE management tools are used correctly.
Review and participate in the investigation of equipment failures.
Assist to establish root cause and implement remedial measures.
Ensure that all mechanical safety devices are functional and always operating.
Technical:
Coordinate and supervise the usage of the PM System
Monitor the operational performance of the Company’s equipment. Identify areas for improvement.
Assist the Senior Tool pusher prepare purchase orders for the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Review all Operational/Technical bulletins, communicate pertinent points to crew members and implement all directives as required.
Assure that all equipment is properly used and maintained by the rig operating personnel and when applicable, train crews and rig supervisors in the proper handling of mechanical equipment.
Manage and oversee the utilization of equipment to minimize NPT.
Accountable to ensure Company’s Maximo program is utilized routinely and effectively.
Ensure that equipment is maintained in line with the PM system (Maximo).
People Management:
To take responsibility for junior mechanical staff to ensure a motivated, disciplined, and productive workforce. This includes effective staff leadership and communication.
Appraise each direct report annually on a constant rolling feedback basis. Drive appraisal process throughout the unit to formalize performance management.
Ensure that training programs are maintained for all employees in line with training matrix.
Evaluate personnel under his supervision and recommend promotions.
Train junior members of staff to service and repair mechanical equipment and to assist with their development.
Encourage and support employees for personal development and takeover of responsibility.
Take immediate action on performance improvement issues and pursue a direct response culture (positive and negative) to the employee, secure prompt feedback.
Support, promote and actively participate in the Company’s Safety programs.
Business Planning / Continuous Improvement / Organization Efficiency:
Ensure all work is performed within the requirements and guidance of the company’s MS system.
Responsible for the return of all equipment to its proper storage location in a condition where it is ready for use again, cleaned, and serviced.
Pre-plan operational requirements, organize equipment and supplies, and conduct testing of critical equipment/systems as required.
Review and participate in the investigation of safety incidents. Assist as necessary in the implementation of remedial measures.
To instigate, drive and take ultimate responsibility for continuous improvement.
Eliminate any waste and establish a cost-conscious planning effort within area of responsibility.
Responsible for the return of all equipment used to its proper storage location in a condition where it is ready to be used again.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluent spoken and proficient written English.
Numeric literacy.
PC literate in Microsoft office
Has mechanical engineering background with relevant hands on experience
Preferred: Technical Degree
EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCE
The company primarily promotes its experienced Junior Mechanic to this position. New hires will preferably possess current experience as an Mechanic in land drilling operations.
Understanding the criticality of service quality to company reputation and process.
Demonstrate excellent safety leadership skills and leads by example.
Understands and can demonstrate the need of planning ahead and proactive activities undertaken in operations.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to assist in effective management of personnel and operations.
Has worked in an overseas multi-national company.
Ability to impact and influence people, by being a good listener and communicator and could handle and manage crews under his responsibility.
Is proactive and proficient in fault finding and problem solving to rig equipment.
