Overview:
To maintain all company-owned and operated electrical equipment. To understand and implement the usage and maintenance of rig equipment in accordance with maintenance procedures, and to supervise and train electrical maintenance staff to a proficient level of competency.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Responsibilities:
Responsible for minimizing overall equipment spending based on the highest preventive maintenance standard.
Perform controls to ensure all required operational reports are submitted with full documentation in support
QHSE Responsibilities:
To lead through effective safety leadership by being personally responsible for the Implementation of MS requirements daily.
To ensure a safe working environment without harm to persons or the environment.
To address HSE issues at the time of their identification.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies by all personnel, support personal to take time out for safety when necessary, and encourage employees to make safety suggestions.
Ensure that the permit to work system and other HSE management tools are used correctly.
Review and participate in the investigation of equipment failures. Assist in establishing the root cause and implementing remedial measures.
Review day-to-day operations and make safety suggestions.
Encourage employees to make safety suggestions.
Technical:
Coordinate and supervise the usage of the PM System
Monitor the operational performance of the Company’s equipment. Identify areas for improvement.
Assist the Senior Tool pusher in preparing purchase orders for the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Review all Operational/Technical bulletins, communicate pertinent points to crew members, and implement all directives as required.
Assure that all equipment is properly used and maintained by the rig operating personnel and, when applicable, train crews and rig supervisors in the proper handling of electrical equipment.
Manage and oversee the utilization of equipment to minimize NPT.
Accountable to ensure the Company’s Maximo program is utilized routinely and effectively.
Ensure that equipment is maintained in line with the PM system, Maximo.
To ensure all daily checklists and repairs are carried out to a high level.
People Management:
To take responsibility for junior Electrical staff to ensure a motivated, disciplined, and productive workforce. This includes effective staff leadership and communication.
Appraise each direct report annually on a constant rolling feedback basis. Drive the appraisal process throughout the unit to formalize performance management.
Ensure that training programs are maintained for all employees in line with the training matrix.
Evaluate personnel under his supervision and recommend promotions.
Train junior members of staff to service and repair electrical equipment and to assist with their development.
Encourage and support employees for personal development and the takeover of responsibility.
Take immediate action on performance improvement issues and pursue a direct response culture (positive and negative) to the employee, and secure prompt feedback.
Support, promote, and actively participate in the Company’s Safety structure
Business Planning / Continuous Improvement / Organization Efficiency:
Ensure all work is performed within the requirements and guidance of the company’s MS system.
Pre-plan operational requirements, organize equipment and supplies, and conduct testing of critical equipment/systems as required.
Review and participate in the investigation of safety incidents. Assist as necessary in the implementation of remedial measures.
To instigate, drive, and take ultimate responsibility for continuous improvement.
Eliminate any waste and establish a cost-conscious planning effort within the area of responsibility.
Responsible for the return of all equipment used to its proper storage location in a condition where it is ready to be used again.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluent in spoken English and proficient in written English.
Numeric literacy.
PC literate in soft office
Has undertaken prior training in an engineering field for the position
Preferred: Technical Degree
EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCE
primarily promotes its experienced junior electrician to this position. New hires will preferably possess current experience as an Electrician in land drilling operations.
Understanding the criticality of service quality to the company's reputation and process.
Demonstrate excellent safety leadership skills and lead by example.
Understands and can demonstrate the need for planning ahead and proactive activities undertaken in operations.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to assist in the effective management of personnel and operations.
Has worked in an overseas multi-national company.
Ability to impact and influence people, by being a good listener and communicator, and have the ability to handle and manage crews under his responsibility.
Ability to assess and find solutions for equipment failures.
Making sure equipment under his control is maintained to the highest standards possible.
Skills & Knowledge
Be knowledgeable of all safety policies and procedures that pertain to his area of responsibility, including firefighting, emergency equipment, lifesaving equipment, and emergency response.
Effective people management skills, able to lead a team under pressure.
Must have relevant experience in well control issues, processes, and procedures.
Preferred : Min 8 years relevant experience in an oilfield service environment.
